With a title like “Quantum Jelly” and cover art featuring a pair of Asics Gel Kayanos dissolving into one another, I’d sized this up roughly as a FM-synthesis/vector synth throwback LP before dropping the needle. Luckily, Senni is a craftsman and this is not simply homage or kitsch. The press release references 90s trance/hard trance, and this is a good jumping off point. Razor sharp, trebly sequences dominate the palette here, sourced impressively from a Roland JP8000. “Windows of Vulnerability” wastes no time in weaving its rhythmic web. An intricate headnodder of a track, it contains some of the albums best arpeggiated melodies. Recommended for fans of the more dance-oriented aspects of the “synth revival.” - Alex Cobb, Experimedia
